- Patterned fabrics
- Dry wheat or rice
- Ruler and pencil
- Scissors and pins
- Sewing machine and matching thread
Cut out rectangles of patterned fabric large enough to fit comfortably into the palm of your hand approximately 8cm x 12cm. Mix and match the fabrics, then place two pieces together with the right sides of the fabric facing and stitch around the edges with a 5mm seam allowance, leaving a small gap in one of the sides.
Trim the bulk from the corners, then turn to the right side through the gap, tease out the corners and press. Fill the bag with wheat or rice; make a funnel with a small piece of paper to make this process less messy. Finally close the gap with small hand slip stitches.
