You’ll need
- Clip-top jar
- Coloured papers
- Decorative border punch
- Glue
- Double-sided tape
- Baker’s twine
- Flat-backed gems
Wash and dry a large clip-top jar to remove grease. Cut a 2.5cm wide strip of thick coloured paper long enough to fit around the circumference of the jar. Trim a second piece, 4cm wide, in a toning colour and use a border punch to cut a decorative pattern in either side.
Glue the punched strip over the plain and fix around the jar with double-sided tape. Die cut or hand cut a label and fix to the front, wrapping baker’s twine around the jar. Cover the ends of the twine with a layered rectangle of coloured paper and add lettering if desired.
To finish, decorate the neck of the jar with more lengths of bakers twine and add a little glitz with some coloured flatbacked gems. Fill with sweeties or marshmallows to toast on the fire.
