Crochet wardrobe fresheners

Keep your clothes smelling sweet with these pretty makes by designer Corinne Bradd

Elegant and a little bit retro, these fresheners are filled with dried lavender to delicately scent your closet, but you can stuff them with whatever takes your fancy, including cotton wool, if you want them purely for decoration. These makes go particularly well with vintage style bedroom furniture, and make wonderful gifts for a female friend or family member.

To make up

Sew in loose ends, place the flowers wrong sides together and join using whip stitch and a darning needle. Stuff the flower before closing up the last petal. Take a length of yarn and sew through the centre of the stuffed shape, wrap over the side and back through the centre. Wrap over the other side and continue in this way, pulling the yarn taut to accentuate the petal shape. Once all six sides have been wrapped tie the ends of the yarn together and sew the ends into the stuffed shape.
