There really is nothing that will wow your guests more than serving up a home-made apéritif on their arrival, and a chocolate Martini is the ultimate indulgence.
- 5 minutes, plus chilling
- 1 tbsp finely grated dark chocolate
- 50ml whipping cream
- 60ml (1½ shots) Irish cream liqueur
- 60ml (1½ shots) crème de cacao
- 20ml (½ shot) vodka
- Ice cubes
First prepare your Manhattan glass. Using your fingertip, wet the rim of the glass with water. Scatter the grated chocolate on a small plate and turn the glass in the chocolate, making sure the rim is coated with chocolate. Chill in the refrigerator and reserve the remaining chocolate.
When ready to serve, lightly whip the cream until thickened slightly but still very sloppy. Put all the alcohol into a cocktail shaker with some ice cubes. Shake well, then pour it into the prepared chilled glass and add a twirl of the cream. Finish with a sprinkle of the reserved chocolate and serve immediately. Santé!
