Embellish face cloths

This design is definitely ship shape! I was aiming for a timeless quality with a stylised ship, yacht and lighthouse from a bygone age, and colours from the sea: coral, turquoise and crisp white.

  • Embellish face cloths
    You’ll need
      • Wash cloths, M&S
      • Plain linen in assorted colours
      • Embroidery thread
      • Embroidery hoop
      • Crewel needle
      • Bondaweb

Trace the larger fish shapes onto Bondaweb, as described before, and apply to scraps of linen. Cut each out neatly, then peel off backing paper and iron on to the flat strip on a towelling face cloth. Stitch all round each shape in a matching thread, using blanket stitch. Embroider bubbles and a small round eye in satin stitch, mixing and matching thread colours.
